When a person accepts Islam, all the members of Islam become obligatory upon him And there are 5 pillars of Islam
Kalima Tayyaba
Prayer
Fasting
Hajj
Zakat.
What do the five Pillars of Islam Mean?
Kalima Tayyaba
’لاَ اِلٰہَ اِلَّا اﷲُ مُحَمَّدٌ رَّسُوْلُ اﷲ ‘‘
(There is no God but Allah Muhammad is the messenger of Allah)
These words of Kalima Tayyaba actually signify bearing witness to faith, giving Shahada of what you believe in i.e. the oneness of Allah and Prophet being the last messenger of Allah. Without reciting it aloud a Muslim cannot claim his faith. It is basically the root of Islam
Prayer
Indeed, I am Allah, there is no god but Me, so worship Me and establish prayer in remembrance of Me
(طہ:14)
Allah said in the Holy Qur’an: Indeed, I am Allah, there is no god but Me, so worship Me and establish prayer in remembrance of Me Prayer is the pillar of the religion of Islam, prayer is the ascension of the believer, prayer prevents a person from indecency and evil, and surely the remembrance of Allah is the greatest and the prayer is the best remembrance. It is called prayer. Islam is incomplete without prayer
Fasting
O you who have believed, fasting is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you, so that you may become righteous.(Albaqara,2 :183)
Fasting is the third pillar of the religion of Islam, just as the religion of Islam is incomplete without the word of God and prayer, similarly the religion of Islam is incomplete without fasting The Quran states that fasting was prescribed for believers so that they may be conscious of God. By abstaining from things that people tend to take for granted (such as water), it is believed, one may be moved to reflect on the purpose of life and grow closer to the creator and sustainer of all existence Fasting is not only that a person abstains from food and drink, but fasting also means that he abstains from all sins along with food and drink and does not disobey Allah in any way.
Hajj
Indeed, the first house built for people to worship is the one in Makkah, blessed and a guidance for all the worlds(Ale. Imran.96)
Hajj is the fourth pillar of the religion of Islam, just as the religion is incomplete without Kalma Tayyaba, prayer, and fasting, similarly, the religion of Islam is incomplete for a person who can afford it and does not perform Hajj. hajj required of all Muslims once in a lifetime. It is a physically demanding journey that Muslims believe offers a chance to wipe clean past sins and start anew before God. Pilgrims seek to deepen their faith on the hajj, with some women adopting the head covering known as the “hijab. Hajj is obligatory upon a Muslim who has enough money that neither he nor his family run out of money from the time he goes on the journey to the time he returns home.
Zakat
O believers! Spend from what We have provided you with. (Albaqara 2: 254)
And establish prayer and pay zakat and bow with those who bow.(Albaqara :286)
Zakat is the fifth and last member of the religion of Islam, just as the religion of Islam is incomplete without Kalima Tayyaba, Namaz, Hajj, whoever is able and does not pay Zakat, his religion of Islam is also incomplete
Zakat is a form of obligatory charity that has the potential to ease the suffering of millions. With the literal meaning of the word being ‘to cleanse,’ Muslims believe that paying Zakat purifies, increases and blesses the remainder of their wealth Zakat can be given to eight types of people Zakat is for the poor and needy, and for those who receive it, and whose hearts have turned away from Islam, and those who are in debt, and those who are in the way of Allah, and for those who travel
